The town of Lom lies on the right bank of Danube River, north of Montana town. The harbour of the city sprang up 170 years ago. It is located on a strategic place where lots of trade roads cross themselves. The port’s location and the convenient connections by land to the south of Danube influence favorably the development of Lom. The town transformed into an important transport center in the northern Bulgaria. Today two of the European water corridors (4th and 7th), famous with the name “Crete ones” cross each other in the Lom harbour.
